If battery froze solid it's done for. Not here to start a war about is it good or bad, I think it's crazy, but others may like it. This is only one reason that you may get that message, so if you have not replaced the batteryand get this message, there is probably something else wrong.

Whenever you replace the battery or recharge it externally, the BMS has to learn the new state of charge of the battery. Well I've gone back and had another look in the Body Control Module via the latest FORSCAN update and cant find any reference to a battery let alone a reset option. Prior to relearning the state of charge, the BMS may disable electrical features (to protect the battery) earlier than normal. Edited by Speedlimit, 19 November 2017 - 01:32 AM. The PCM controls the voltage regulation set point, working with the generator internal voltage regulator over 2 control and communication circuits. It seems to me that there is/was an availability in some of the Mondeo's, up to around the 2010 /2011 models, to be able to reset a new battery via a BMS availability and then in models from 2010 up to 2014 the BMS option was NOT available for some reason. everything is as it should be now thanks all for the info and tips. I'm going to show you how to go through it using the scan tool to save that eight hours. don't know about anyone else but my local dealer wants to charges $70 just to reset the stupid BMS.

Then the next morning the car was dead, and I needed another jump when I was leaving work that afternoon. Under this condition: • the Front Display Interface Module (FDIM) displays SYS OFF TO SAVE BATT (without navigation) or BATTERY SAVER — SYSTEM OFF PLEASE START THE ENGINE (with navigation). A message may be shown in the information displays to alert the driver that battery protection actions are active. A charged battery is good to about -75° F. below zero, but a dead battery will freeze around +20° or so. A frozen battery may explode if charged. some other party I forget. Ok, you still change the battery the same way, but if your 2011 or newer F150 has this or something similar on the negative battery cable then you have what Ford calls a Battery Monitoring System (BMS).Starting in 2011, Ford started putting this on the trucks.
